KI BOSTON HOSTS GRAND REOPENING EVENT TO CELEBRATE NEW DESIGN RESOURCE CENTER
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 17, 2008
BOSTON, MASS. – KI Boston hosted more than 200 architectural and design professionals along with customers at the grand reopening for its new design resource center. The evening included food, drinks and entertainment by faculty from the Berklee College of Music. “The event was a great way to mingle with our customers while highlighting our newly redesigned showroom,” said Tom Maloney, KI district manager, Boston. “The party also gave us an excellent opportunity to introduce new KI products in a fun and festive environment.” A variety of changes were made to the Boston design resource center, which doubled in size to approximately 6,000 square feet. The space was designed to highlight product solutions across KI’s core markets including education, healthcare, government and business. Several new product highlights in the showroom also included an extensive Genius® architectural wall display with high-end finishes such as wood veneer, custom glass and several door types. The recent Nightingale award-winning Arissa™ Collection also was added to the showroom’s healthcare space. This new universal seating collection relies on a unique patent-pending seat geometry that supports up to 750 pounds, yet can accommodate users without appearing as an oversized version of a standard chair. A large Strive® Seating Collection display rounded out the new additions. Designed by award-winning international designer Giancarlo Piretti, this collection utilizes readily available, recyclable materials to achieve low cost while allowing flex back comfort. A consistent design language is applied throughout the collection ranging from stack and task chairs to café stools and fixed seating. “We’re very proud of our new showroom,” said Maloney. “The chance to show off what we do for our customers is exciting, and the feedback we received on the newly redesigned space was fantastic.” KI manufactures innovative furniture and wall system solutions for education, healthcare, government and corporate markets.
