PALLAS TEXTILES FEATURES NEW COLLECTIONS AND THEIR DESIGNERS AT NEOCON
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 9, 2008
CHICAGO—Three new collections from Pallas® Textiles are on display in the showroom it shares with KI, Ste. 1181, at the 2008 NeoCon® World’s Trade Fair.
“Our latest collections emphasize sophistication, elegance and timelessness — design characteristics that serve as the legacy of Pallas Textiles,” said David White, vice president, general manager, Pallas Textiles. “Working with a series of talented designers, we’ve introduced several innovative collections over the past two years that mark a new direction for our company. We’re excited to feature the ways in which Pallas is bringing together basic, essential design principles with fresh, modern patterns, colors and materials.”
The collection that most reflects this new direction, Pure Luxury, is on display in the showroom. Much of KI’s furniture will be upholstered with two of the company’s most recent and popular collections, Simply Real and Viva Italia.
Pure Luxury Pure Luxury marks Pallas’ return to the simple beauty of textiles. Using classic techniques, designer Tracey Reinberg created its three lines, which include Indulgence, a rich, classic velvet; Opulence, a solid read with subtle color accents; and Substance, a textural pattern with bamboo, offering an updated aesthetic of a classic epingle. Highlighting the progression of the traditional solid, Pure Luxury combines basic design with contemporary textures, materials and colors to create a simple, elegant upholstery collection for corporate, healthcare and hospitality spaces.
Simply Real The Simply Real Collection pairs sophisticated patterns and textures with earthen energy to evoke a sense of simplicity and meaning. It combines environmentally friendly fabrics with elegant design, using intricate patterns and colors to replicate the most basic elements of nature. Designer Laura Guido-Clark created four lines that highlight uniquely hued color combinations in fabrics made of recycled and recyclable materials. Deeply Rooted is made up of recyclable fibers and features a combination of circles that make up a large scale swirling pattern, reminiscent of roots beneath the earth. On the Path resembles a zigzag stitch on a sewing machine, forming an overall large scale stripe. Seeking Truth is inspired from patterns commonly found in the 1940s and 1950s, made up of small circles that create large modern flowers appearing behind a rigid industrial stripe. Finally, Solid Footing is soft to the touch, raised and highly textured, and ranges in colors from lightest moss to the deepest bark.
Viva Italia This collection brings to life the timeless beauty, romance and style of the world’s most beloved Italian destinations. Created in conjunction with award-winning designer Sue Ross, Viva Italia’s three versatile patterns bring elegance to any corporate, education, hospitality or healthcare environment. Trevi echoes the visual effect of the many coins collected in its namesake fountain. Milano pays tribute to the colors, tone and patterns for which Missoni and Italian fashion design are legendary, and Ravenna reflects the beauty and grace of the famed mosaics in this classic city.
